Abstract
Burnishing is cold working process where hard roller are being pressed against irregular surface, so that surface finish and the micro hardness increases whereas High Speed Machining is the machining of component done above 2000 rpm. In this comparative study, single roller burnishing tool is used. Speed, Feed, Depth of Cut have been varied to study high speed machining investigation. Speed, feed, and number of passes have been varied to examine the surface properties. Roughness data, Micro hardness have been compared before burnishing & after burnishing for Inconel 718 material which is a superalloy used in many high strength applications.
